Human-animal interaction

About us

The Adrienne and Pierre Sommer Foundation is France’s only private, independent nonprofit organization devoted to human-animal interaction (HAI). The Foundation supports the development of HAI practices that contribute to the well-being and integration of the most fragile members of society: ill or disabled children and adults, homeless youth, ex-prisoners, and dependant older adults. To this end, the Foundation provides financial support for approximately 60 HAI initiatives in France each year. It supports academic and field research on HAI-related issues, provides schools with HAI-themed learning materials, and organizes national and international conferences.
